This festival presents a variety of performers and bands of
traditional music.

Eddie Pennington
is widely recognized among his peers as one of the
greatest living thumb-style guitarists. In venues
throughout the United States and Europe, he has kept alive the
sound popularized by Kentucky native Merle Travis in the 1940s.

Wayne C Henderson,
Jeff Little,
and Randy Greer
Jeff Little, from Boone, NC featured on the piano. Randy Greer
is a award winning mandolin and guitar player.
Expect bluegrass, hot jazz and a mix of
original songs.

The Elkville String Band
was formed in December 2002 to perform during the Wilkes
Playmakers’ production of "Tom Dooley: A Wilkes County
Legend" which was written by Karen Wheeling Reynolds.
The band has been together ever since that time.

Gerald Anderson
& Spencer Strickland
Gerald Anderson is considered among today’s true
masters. His mandolins are coveted for their intricate handiwork
by musicians throughout the world.
Spencer Strickland,
is one of
the region’s finest mandolin players, having just won
the distinction of “Best All-Around Performer” at the 2004
Galax Fiddlers Convention.
